Trinity Musha Mines Ltd is a Mining company focused on the production and exploration of Tin, Tantalum, and Lithium in Rwanda. Trinity Musha is currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Laboratory Technician.

Job Brief:
The Laboratory Technician will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory testing and analysis. This position involves supervising junior laboratory staff, performing complex analyses and ensuring compliance with quality control standards. Laboratory Technician will report directly to the Group Laboratory Manager, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of laboratory operations.
Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Technician has the following responsibilities and duties:
- Conduct advanced laboratory analyses, including wet-chemistry and XRF procedures, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision.
- Supervise and mentor junior laboratory technicians in performing laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the integrity of test results and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Group Laboratory Manager to develop and refine quality assurance processes and documentation.
- Prepare and analyze samples, maintaining detailed records of procedures, results and any deviations.
- Troubleshoot and report any issues related to laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and maintenance according to protocols.
- Participate in training and development programs for laboratory staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations on laboratory findings and quality control metrics.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, Company’s safety rules and industry regulations, including but not limited to the correct handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Actively participate in regular safety training sessions and emergency response drills, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
- Consistently monitor laboratory equipment and instruments for safety compliance, reporting any hazards or malfunctions promptly to prevent accidents.
Job Requirements: A Laboratory Technician should have the following education, experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, metallurgy, or any related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on quality control and assurance.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including wet chemistry and XRF analysis.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in the business language.
- Experience in supervising or training laboratory staff.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and quality management tools.
- Certification in laboratory quality management (e.g., ISO standards) is a plus.
